In Thailand, the new year is celebrated with the traditional Songkran Festival 13th to 15th of April. In many eastern countries, this holiday falls on about these days. During the festival, Thais greet each other with a holiday, by spraying with water. Many locals walk around town with buckets and water pistols, amused on random passers-by.
And Thais carry a bowl with beige talcum powder, diluted with water and stain them to passers-by. Thus they wish happiness and good luck in the new year.
