Due to strong winds and dry climate in Australia, sometimes there are dust storms that turn the city into the Martian landscape.
Mechanism of such storms are not yet fully understood. It is known that by increasing the strength of wind flow passing over loose particles, the latter begin to vibrate, and then “jumping”. With repeated strikes on the ground, these particles produce a fine dust, which rises in the form of suspension. However, theoretical calculations are very different from the practical, and therefore predict the capacity of dust storm is difficult.
